Jim Daniels and Jim McGinniss- Daniels and McGinniss play a blend of
traditional Appalachian music, roots and alt country, as well as a number
of original songs and instrumentals. Jim McGinnis plays fiddle and guitar.
Jim Daniels performs on the five-string banjo and the guitar.
Jim Daniels and Jim McGinniss have been performing for close to a
decade in a variety of venues, including regular appearances at the Radio
Bean, in Burlington, The Music Box, in Craftsbury, and the Barfly,
in Montreal. They have also performed at county fairs and field days
across northern Vermont, including the Lamoille County Field Days, the
Franklin County Field Days, the Barton Fair and the Caledonia County
Fair. For several years they were featured performers at the Burlington
First Night Celebration.
Jim Daniels played guitar and sang in a variety of bluegrass and country
outfits during his years as a McGill undergraduate. Since then, he has
concentrated on honing his skills on the claw-hammer banjo. Jim Daniels
lives in East Albany with his wife Emily and raises beef, pigs and
Jim McGinniss was a founding member and upright bass player of the
group Pine Island. He contributed original songs. This group recently
played a reunion concert at the Flynn Theater in Burlington, VT. Jim
also played bass with N-zones and guitar with Wild Branch, a northern
Vermont bluegrass ensemble. He performs traditional Irish music on the
fiddle with The Redeemers.
